Taylor and Foussie being cute.

Taylor just said "I like to hold her tail when I sleep." and we are watching RomComs because that's what's on tv.

It all started with Sleepless in Seattle and then What Women Want came on and Marissa Tomei was cute and then the movie was over and I got curious about Failure to Launch which came on without commercial interruption and now I'm pretty sure that it's about to peak and end. That is like, 2 1/2 RomComs and 1 whole one. All in one evening. All that's missing is ice cream or something.

We need to find something else to do before we find another one.

Cougars are out tonight.

If you look closely, those are strawberries framing where it says
'cougars'...I hope everyone else thinks this is as funny as Stephen
and Taylor and I did.

I don't even know what to say.

I had a good weekend. Rooster has heart shaped sugar.

I've always loved you, asparagus

the superbowl spots that peta has come up with are too sexy for TV, apparently. You be the judge...they have names too

pumpkin licker

girl soup

broccoli and olive oil
in fondue????

WOAH.

Isn't Maliea a cute kitten?

My friend Maliea, who is from STL and born 2 days before me [we had a conjoined 21st bday] is moving from Chicago to Los Angeles because she is in love with a boy who moved back to the bay area and she wants to move to California to be closer to him, but is not quite ready to commit to being immersed in this strange new world where all her new friends would be friends of the guy she's dating. She got a really good job designing for American Apparel (!) and I'm totally going to send her anything that I find that I want her to be designing into mass production or at least test production so I can live vicariously through her.

Anyways, after all that TMI, she had a kitten with her face on it on her going away party flier and I thought it was super rad.

Our new friend Snuggie emailed me.

I absolutely love how apeshit everyone goes over the snuggie. This past weekend I brought my new friend Jacob over to my apartment to pick up my netflix movies and I had that 'robotic' book light laying out on my coffee table, and he picked it up and went "Where did this come from? Did you buy a snuggie or something?"

I did not buy a snuggie, but I did get the light as a promotional gift from some dude in the O'Connel's parking lot when I rode my bike there to get a sandwich one time. It was a totally odd interaction.

Taylor sent me this.

This is awesome. Glitter really does spread to everything it touches. I got into using glitter my freshman year of college and I got so much shit for so many years because I'm pretty sure some of it is still stuck in the paint in the tables or in dust bunnies in corners.

Stephen made this hat

He thought it was funny.

Poor porche stuck In the snow

Who would own a porche in south st louis anyways? I don't see how this
is practical at all, especially In the snow.

Babies Puking

Last week I got a response to a text message from Stephen trying to get him to come out and he said something to the effect of "it's too cold and I'm too busy watching videos of babies puking on shit."

I didn't think it was that funny until I saw it for myself. Brace yo belly. It might split.

Making fun

I was just gonna post the regular version, but I was feeling kind of spontaneous and I like the names of the dance moves that they made up.

Don't you love it when...

...you remember that you have these portraits from when your parents went out on a date in a casino to see Splash and you couldn't go because there were boobs in the show, even though you really really wanted to because you were so obsessed with mermaids that you chipped your left tooth at the bottom of the swimming pool when you were acting like a mermaid [not once, but twice] and they brought back the pictures instead and now you're 22 and you can't decide whether it'd be more appropriate to email them to Rad Dudes or Sexy People?

Yeah, me too.
I am still jealous. Seriously.

Advertisements for the drag show and the awesome comedy and cuisine...

Linda

Paul

So now you guys have met my parents. I guess that means we're like, going out or something right?

Ps- If you're thinking "wow she looks adopted" --you're not the first.

puking and fucking.

ok fine I really am this gross. sometimes I surprise myself that I can find shit like this. Gross. I feel kind of like some punk teenage boy right now.

Cabin fever

I am so bored that I actually just googled "cats making out" so that I could see if it existed and then I realized it wasn't even funny because no one is around to make fun of it with.

I'm going to go eat soup with Stephen now. I think I'm all computered out right now.

Peetr Monterubio is a genius.

I don't know where you found these, but you rule.

I need to write more stories

I really like reading short stories and hearing stories, and I guess if I practiced I could get good at writing them.

Knockoff cereal has kooler kolors and kharacters!

One time I thought this was funny.

iPhone=scanner=xerox machine

you can do the same things with it. See? Happy swishing accidents.

Cole and Ali are my favorite.

It's a good thing too, because people who don't like their roommate's significant others have it totally bad. I'm gonna cook for them and go on bike rides just the three of us. It's gonna be great.

Thrift store pictures

I love my iPhone. It's changed my life for the better. For example, I can inconspicuously take pictures of things and no one cares. This is especially helpful in stores where I think that I want to buy something that looks cool and then I remember that my apartment is chock full of stuff that I think it cool looking and so I got myself into the habit of just taking pictures of cool things that I want instead. Unless i can sell it on eBay. This new habit has saved me a lot of money.

Forwards and Back

My friend Liz and I colored this for her apartment last year.

I wish it were spring

Look how much fun Spring is! This is at Brizone last year.

I made this on my TV

Last year I got all nostalgic and bought this educational video gaming system that I had when I was a toddler. It is called Socrates and basically you can make music and draw pictures and solve math problems, all with a robot that looks exactly like Johnny 5 from Short Circuit as your guide.

Wikipedia says that "While the system was a commercial failure, it boasted many features that were well ahead of its time." I have to agree and my parents loved technology so much that they bought it for me and then I grew up to be 21 and bought it on ebay again!

Vanity

I kind of wish someone had taken a picture of my outfit yesterday because I kind of had fun wearing it. I also got an awesome compliment on my galoshes from a security guard at the airport.

New music

Adam Green singing with Lissie Trullie...I wonder how they avoided getting the cameraman in the mirror. Maybe that's why they chose to put subtitles up sometimes.

WOW! And she covers the Hot Chip song "Ready for the Floor"...watch it here.
If you aren't familiar with the song, here is the original. It is too catchy for its own good and the video looks like it was probably a blast to make.
Thanks Jeff! I'm SO going to her show at the Gargoyle!

But don't you love us any more?

This picture is priceless. In about April of last year, I had to take the cats to the vet and I didn't have a carrier so I put them in a laundry basket and Brakhage thought I was going to abandon him.

Do white people...?

this video is simply called "Do white people have tails?"
The description reads as: the answer is yes, just google white people born with tails! most have them removed as infants
Ah, Snow day.

This one is called "Do all white women breastfeed their 8 year old kids?"
I've seen this before, it's totally bizarre. These girls are going to be very strange adults.

Tree Man!

I like how they are teaching him how to text message in physical therapy.

Verner Herzog's 'Grizzly Man'

Was playing last night at Lemmon's.

"Melissa is eating her babies!"

"that's her poop!"

The best parts were where he would play with the foxes though. The foxes remind me of Chilton. They act just like him, they make the same faces and everything. I wish we could go running in a field set to pleasant music, but I'm not entirely sure that he'd follow me so diligently. Then again, he hasn't been outside in a while, and he is pretty chill when we hang outside.

Cute videos of fox footage:

This picture is really old

But for some reason I really really love it. I also wish I put so much effort into my appearance more often.

My friend sent me this...

really mean song about evolution that was sang by actress Crystal Bernard and her sister Robyn when they were little. I'm guessing their parents made them do it.

Listen here

He loves me.

I mean, a lot of it has to do with me feeding him, but isn't it sweet that he wanted to hold hands?

Another reason to hate those wretched ugly shoes.

a seven year old boy got his crocs stuck in an escalator.

Brakhage is too good at being fat.

I thought I'd failed at getting a picture of him where he looked like roadkill (because he moved) and then he did this!

What happened was that he was shifting around to sleep and he caught a snag with his claw and his arm got stuck backwards, so he just went with it and decided to go back to sleep. What a fatty.

One word: Delivery!

Holy shit. I just went to get my mail (yes it comes this late) and I think I fell for some good old fashioned annoying flyer leaving. Hard.

There is a menu for Chinese delivery food. The restaurant is on South Grand. I think I may have already lost the menu.

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!

They deliver for a minimum of $8 orders!!!

FUCK GOING TO THE SCHNUCKS...I'm ordering in and cleaning my apartment and watching One Crazy Summer.

Order online at: newstlouiswok.com

Movie Watchin!!!!

I've watched so many movies this winter I've got to start commenting on them or something.

Tonight I watched Step Brothers and it was SO funny. I'll elaborate tomorrow.

More cats playing instruments.

it's a little long and kind of boring but I felt compelled to post it anyways.

Here is the description:
This is not a trick taught to Nora. She began sitting at the piano at about one-year-old. She's almost four now. She plays only when the mood strikes her, which is usually several time a times a day for short periods.

If you ever want to have a REAL good time, look up videos of cats playing THEREMINS!!!!

Cat playing keyboard.

thanks, edbury.

Scott Walker.

I don't know if I've ever talked about Scott Walker on here before, but he is one of my favorite musicians ever. Above are two very good albums. Scott 3 has really cool artwork and So does Scott 4 but I think Scott 4 is my favorite ever. I'd always wondered why more people that are fans of Leonard Cohen don't know about Scott Walker, and it turns out that they made a movie out of this same sort of line of questions...it turns out he's kind of a recluse.

Here is the trailer for that movie, take a look at which musicians are in the movie providing commentary. There might just be one of your heroes in there too.

He's so handsome and the most brilliant songsmith ever. I love him.

Tonight at White Flag Projects.

Again, I'll be tending bar or something, so come visit.

Jeremy Blake began to make a name for himself in the late 1990's with digital projections that combined colorful abstract geometric forms with photographic images - poolside cabanas, Modernist interiors, patio lights, skylines - that suggested scenes from movies. Some art critics described the work as Color Field paintings set in motion. He called much of his work "time-based paintings," and wrote that he drew his subject matter from a fascination with "half-remembered and imaginary architecture" and images borrowed from "Hollywood's psychic dustbin."

He began to veer more toward the narrative and documentary in works like his "Winchester" video trilogy, which was shown at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 2005. The videos focused on the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, Calif., a 160-room mansion with mazes of hallways and dead-end staircases, built by Sarah Winchester, the widowed heiress to the Winchester rifle fortune, to try to protect herself from ghosts of gunshot victims whom she believed would haunt her.

A 2003 work at Feigen Contemporary was inspired by the diaries of Ossie Clark, the flamboyant English fashion designer who helped create the mod look in the 1960's.

Jed Perl wrote in The New Republic that Mr. Blake had "the clearsighted cheerfulness of the madman working at the margins."

His work, which was included in three Whitney Biennials, became known to a much larger audience when he created trippy, fluid sequences of abstract art for the 2002 movie "Punch-Drunk Love," directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, who had seen an exhibition of Mr. Blake's art while working on the film.

Blake received a bachelor's degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1993 and a master's in 1995 from the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia.

Inauguration Day

Obama's inauguration speech co-author is 27!! I don't know what he looks like without those sunglasses, but I sure hope he's being careful with how laid he is probably getting, or at least how Many girls are just throwing themselves at him.

My eyes are really puffy and I'm kind of hungover, but I'm still gonna make it out to the Royale today for the speech and all day partying. I might take a break and go home to feed the cats and make chicken soup with rice, but I'm inclined to stick it out to wait until the ever-awesome Jim Utz is DJing later in the evening. If it is at ten I swear I'm going to definitely go home for a Very Long cooking and TV nap of sorts.

My Aunt Moo sent me these.

We had dinner at Buca di Beppo in Santa Monica over the holidays and my little cousin was sitting on the other side of the room and he pointed out this statue of a kitty that was behind him, and I started cracking up because I looked behind me and my brother and look what I found!

Here is my cousin Nick and his super cute T-shirt that makes him a skeleton playing guitar. He just turned 7 today and he loves Lego Wii games.
Oh yeah, and her husband's nephew won an Emmy! Here's his reel...I like everything about it except that it's really long and the Papyrus drives me nuts a little bit too. Not too crazy about the ending either, but you can't say anything too bad about family, especially when they are winning awards for doing a good job!

09 vfx demo reel from pharoah barrett on Vimeo

No wonder I got sick this morning.

Thanks, courtesy diner post 3 am! I'm gonna post a link later to the definition of a slinger for my non st louisan friends out there. Justin made his own sort of slinger that wasn't breakfast food, it was a hamburger and fries. The nice girl working there let him know that it'd be cheaper for him to get the bowl of chili on the side and then just make the slinger for himself, so that's what he did.

Is it fucked up that even though I puked this morning, that chili cheese fries sound really good right now?

I mean, I'm pretty sure it was the eggs in my meal that made me puke, not the slinger.
